. … I extend my thanks to all customers, collaborators, and network members whose contributions made these experiences possible. It has been a fulfilling and remarkable year, and I am excited to share a brief overview in six sections.

#1 Fostering Collaboration for Climate and Environmental Protection My commitment to climate protection is evident in my active involvement. A noteworthy event in May 2019 was moderating Climate Neighbourhoods (CN) during the International Conference on Climate Collaboration Action (ICCA 2019) in Heidelberg. Approximately 70 young individuals and civil society actors from diverse countries gathered in a fishbowl and open space to collaboratively devise solutions and messages for the ICCA at the local level under the theme “Let’s scale up solutions.” Notably, the moderation took place in a mirror tent, and a panel discussion featuring Fridays for Future, Nick Nuttal, and Eckhard von Hirschhausen added an exciting dimension.

#2 Shaping Multi-Stakeholder Dialogues for Sustainable Resource Use I had the privilege of bringing together stakeholders from science, business, politics, and civil society in both familiar and new subject areas. Moderating the Stakeholder Conference of the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaboration Centre (ISC3) provided valuable insights into potential solutions for sustainable chemistry. Additionally, moderating a stakeholder workshop for the Virtual Water Values (ViWA) project on sustainable water management, though familiar territory, was equally fascinating. Witnessing the emergence of new insights from simulations and monitoring within the project, and observing how mutual exchange enriched everyone involved, was particularly gratifying.

#3 Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the Ground The Sustainable Development Goals have long been a central focus of my work. I had the pleasure of moderating the “Regional Conference on Localisation of SDGs” in Skopje (North Macedonia). The conference aimed to empower stakeholders from the Western Balkans to implement the SDGs and the “Leave No One Behind Principle” at the local level. Noteworthy were the concrete examples from the region, illustrating how pursuing the common goal of the SDGs in municipalities enables new solution cooperation. The Power Walk method employed during the event made social disadvantage tangible.

#4 Advancing Mobility, Transport, and Logistics for a Sustainable Future The dynamic challenges of sustainable mobility continue to captivate me in various ways. From moderating the annual conference of the national mobility and fuel strategy on “Mobility 4.0 – future-oriented approaches for the energy transition in transport” to facilitating a dialogue on road safety and moderating a “Logistics Solution” in Addis Ababa, the common thread is exploring how dialogue among diverse stakeholders can generate solutions for future mobility and logistics, contributing to sustainable development goals.

#5 Facilitating Local Citizen Participation in Dialogue with Politicians, Administration, and Experts I actively participated in a range of public participation projects. In Reutlingen, I moderated two public information events on the contentious topics of air pollution control and the construction of a new hotel in the Bürgerpark. Working with IFOK, I contributed as a moderator to the Munich perspective update and the citizens’ dialogue on the mission statement process for the Lusatia region. It was motivating to witness the expertise and willingness of citizens, often randomly selected, collaborating constructively on solutions for their municipality or region.

#6 Supporting Teams, Organizational Units, and Networks I am delighted to offer my services to organizations committed to social transformation aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Clients from media, development cooperation, foundations, and academia often operate in fragile working contexts, facing crises, flight, and migration. Internal events provide a crucial platform to collectively reflect on current topics, strengthen each other, and gain new insights. The challenge lies in maintaining the framework, structuring content, and carefully navigating ongoing discussion processes with flexibility and care.
