Joining forces with experts from science, politics, business, municipalities, and civil society, the Federal Environment Agency is set to explore various topics, implementation strategies, and collaboration opportunities outlined in its newly developed strategic research agenda on urban environmental protection. The conference marks the debut presentation of this agenda to a diverse specialist audience. The Federal Environment Agency aims to delve into key research themes and challenges associated with realizing innovative concepts.

How can our cities and urban regions transition towards greater environmental friendliness? What steps are necessary to achieve environmentally and socially compatible, health-promoting urban development? Identifying critical issues, pinpointing collaboration opportunities for implementing solutions, and overcoming obstacles are crucial aspects to be addressed.

These and related questions will be at the forefront of discussions during the collaborative conference, “Urban Environmental Protection – Setting the Course for Environmentally Oriented Urban Development.” Organized jointly by the Federal Environment Agency and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building, and Nuclear Safety, the event is scheduled for April 12, 2018, in Berlin.
